The urine dipstick is often performed at your doctor’s office. It tests for protein and sugar in the urine, which could indicate kidney problems, preeclampsia, or diabetes. You will receive this test at all your prenatal visits. A normal result is negative. If you test positive, you may be tested further, given a treatment, or retested.
